Earrings Understanding Your Face Shape
To determine your shape, pull your hair back and look directly into a mirror. You can trace your face’s outline with a lipstick or dry-erase marker, or simply observe the proportions of your forehead, cheekbones, and jawline:
-
Round: Width and length are similar; soft curves at the jaw and cheeks - Long drops, linear, or rectangular shape earrings work best.
-
Oval: Slightly longer than wide; balanced proportions with a softly rounded jaw - Almost everything (studs, hoops, drops)
-
Square: Broad forehead and strong, defined, angular jawline - Hoops, oval drops, curved silhouettes
-
Heart: Broad forehead that tapers down to a narrow or pointed chin - Teardrop, chandelier, or bottom-heavy designs
-
Rectangle (Oblong): Longer than it is wide; often with a firm, straight jawline - Large hoops, clustered studs, wide designs
-
Diamond: Narrow at the forehead and jaw; high, prominent cheekbones are the widest point - Studs, small hoops, chandelier styles
